Dome and Roll-Off Roof Observatories

Amateur astronomy is a very fun and rewarding hobby. There is nothing like the upclose view of celestial objects through a telescope. And with the modern computerized telescopes and equipment available today, you have capabilities that only professional installations had thirty years ago.

But telescopes and their related equipment are not designed to be left outside unprotected. Every time you want to do a little stargazing you will spend 30+ minutes to haul out the equipment and setup and align the scope and then the same amount of time to bring everything back inside. If you are doing astrophotography you can probably add another hour of setup time cabling the cameras and computer, doing a precise telescope alignment and waiting for the equipment to properly cool down.

The solution is your own home observatory. With a home observatory, stargazing just got a lot more comfortable. Setup time has been reduced to opening the dome or rolling off a roof and flipping on the telescope power switch. For astrophotography, cameras and computers are always ready for action and the telescope is at the ambient outside air temperature. You can even have a control room to keep you warm during cold winter nights.

Durango Skies specializes in Observatory Solutions for astronomy enthusiasts. We design and install dome observatories and roll-off roof observatories, ranging from modest structures to sophisticated, fully automated configurations. And as a dealer for telescopes, piers, imaging equipment and accessories, we can provide the complete solution.

Give us a call today to explore the possibilities for your own home observatory.
